King Aldrum the fourth believed that Ella, Jake, and Sebastian have magical powers, but they are not like the king's powers. They were dark powers made up of dark forces and dark particles called Caliginous.

The king was not sure who possessed them, so he invited the three of them to the royal palace for a week so that he could judge them and at the end pick the one that he thinks has Caliginous in them. 

But living in the palace wasn't easy for Ella after she finds out that Queen Sarahina is hiding something megalithic from her, something that would change her life for the better or the worst. 

Ella starts to discover how and for what reason she had gotten her powers.
