Dear Diary, Me and April are finally starting to hangout again! You see what happened was: I was hanging out on the rooftop of my apartment building when these men came and tried to kidnap me. I fought as hard as I could but I accidentally fell off the rooftop. However this green dude with a purple bandana saved me! He gently brought me to the ground and checked to see if I had any injuries. While he was checking, I saw April on the rooftop with some other green dudes and she was fighting off those weird men! Eventually they disappeared and the whole group came down to me and the purple guy. She apologized to me for not keeping in contact for the entire year. She said she's been training to be a fighter with the help of her friends, which are apparently mutant turtles. They all introduced each other, red is raph, blue is leo, orange is Mikey, and purple is 𝒟ℴ𝓃𝓃𝒶𝓉ℯ𝓁𝓁ℴ I don't know what it is about that guy but.... I think I might have a crush on him, or at the very least it's limerance. I mean the guy saved me so it's probably just infatuation because of that. Anyway, April said that tomorrow she's gonna take me to the turtles lair so we'll see how that goes! Maybe I can even become friends with them! Especially 𝒟ℴ𝓃𝓃𝒶𝓉ℯ𝓁𝓁ℴ..... TW: This is gonna be a pretty angsty story and it will have sad themes such as parental loss, grief, unrequited love (which gets requited...eventually), and obsession (but not too much) I'll post warnings at the beginnings of chapters for some of these themes but I hope you enjoy! "Donnie!" three turtle brothers and their father ran through the fog to find the one that caused the explosion. When they got to the lair they found him crawling out from under his now broken desk. "Sorry guys, I accidently put in the wrong ingredient." Donnie said bashfully as he got up. "As long as we are alright it is fine my son, but I believe that this shows that it is time for us all to get some sleep before something else happens." Master Splinter told his sons, giving a pointed look to the second youngest. The boys bowed their head to their father and complied with his wishes. They exchanged short 'good nights' before they went off to their own rooms, not paying any mind to the orange dust that covered them. That night, all five of the mutants fell into a deep sleep, their bodies slowly transforming. Their shells disappearing. Their green skin becoming pink. April O'Neil: So, you wrote a book... Me: A long-ass book. April: A long-ass book! How did it come about? Me: Well, actually, I was just looking for a xreader story with an adult Donnie, where the female character is strong and independent, doesn't need to be rescued all the time, and isn't a giggling schoolgirl. April: And you didn't find anything? Me: Don't get me wrong, April! There are so incredibly great fanfics and xreader stories out there, and I ate them all up! But I needed a new kick and I wanted something epic, dramatic that involved the mystical powers of the turtles and their further developments. April: And then you started writing yourself? Me: The story came about on its own. In my head. And at some point I just had to write it down, otherwise I would have exploded. With the writing, it didn't become a typical xreader story with the "y/n" in it, because that had irritated me. I know that the "y/n" comes out of an inclusive thought, and I think that's good and right. Unfortunately it blocked me, the heroine in my story was too complex and too concrete, and so I gave it up, even if it was no longer a real xreader story. April: And now you're writing a second book? Me: Exactly. The sequel. I'm on it. April: Do you want to give us a little teaser? Me: Well, there's still Leo and his complicated relationship with my heroine. And in the sequel, he finds out that he actually likes rabbits, too. April: Yeeeah? Me: No, no - I don't want to give too much away! April: Am I also on board again?
