From the author who brought you, 'Abused... ' is now...bringing you... 'Innocence'..(two completely different story lines. These books are not related) My eyes widen as I look at the unconscious body on my Living room floor. I let the pan in my hand hang down to my side, as I look over at Luna. She has her head crooked to the side..also looking at the body on my floor. I look down at the boy, whose currently taking a little nap on my floor. Again, I look over at Luna. She looked at me and stared at me. "What?!" I whisper shouted at her. Luna let out a low rumble from her mouth. "What did you expect me to do?!" I whisper shouted again, holding the pan in the air. Luna stared at me then let out a single bark. "Luna..Shhhh" I said calming her and myself down. She let out a soft whine and obeyed laying down gently on the floor. You're probably wondering 'What the heck just happened?!' or... 'I'm so confused.. ' well... Lemme tell you what happened minutes ago... I felt the bed dip as he sat down on the other side but I focused solely on my task until I was done. "This is a pillow barrier. Meaning, you don't breach this side of the pillows." I instructed, my voice firm. "What if I don't want anything between us?" Phoenix said in a husky voice, and I risked a glance. Bad choice. His eyes were dark and his gaze was on my lips, to my chest, then back to my lips. "Eyes up here, buddy." I snapped the third time his eyes went down to my chest. All he did was turn off the lights. When it was dark, he whispered," Can't I admire what is mine?" I had no answer, and turned on my side. He sighed. Despite taking two naps today, I was out cold the minute my head hit my pillow. I could only hope that in the morning, the pillow barrier was still there. ***** Adira has a secret, one she would do anything to protect.
