Eira had always been taught to keep her heart open, as a frozen heart would close her off and turn her into a monster of legend, something to be feared and shunned. But then she loses the one person she loves above all else and is forced to flee before her heart becomes as cold as the ice palace she calls home.
But then she meets a young girl who seems happy enough, but soon shows that her happiness is artificial. But soon enough it isn't the fake emotions keeping them together, but real ones that are hidden beneath the surface along with a barrage of memories as they both try to figure out why exactly they were brought together and why they both seem so familiar.
