The Imaginary have been here for centuries. Nobody sees them. Nobody knows they're there.

Ariana Lane is an Imaginary Friend. She's been assigned hundreds of children throughout her lifetime. Each one of them has gone and grown up without her. It's a part of her job: letting go and watching them pursue dreams and live life. It's the same every time. Until she's assigned to a certain boy. A boy in high school.

Jason West has been in a wheelchair since "It" happened. Friends that were his friends since fourth grade stopped talking to him. People avoid his eyes in the halls. Everyone talks about it. Behind his back of course, though he still knows. He can hear them all. And he's tired of not having anyone to talk to.
