I'm not like wonder woman, supergirl or catwoman. The only similarity we share is that we all have an extraordinary ability and are females. Many people would say having superpowers was a gift from god and the best thing that could ever happen to you. But not for me, being able to freeze time was more of a burden, because I couldn't control it and it had the worst timing to appear. I also didn't think about being a superhero and rescuing the world from the bad. The only thing I want is to be left alone and get over with my last year of high school. Many of the clones were made from stolen DNA from supermodels, singers and actresses, and have almost no shot at a real future because of the sheltered way they were raised. They'd been isolated and completely dependent on the school and the families that ordered them as though they were nothing more than food on a menu. But not every clone is going down without a flight, as Madelyn finds out when she meets her new next door neighbor. This was written for the Open Novelle Contest 2023, Prompt 61: A new neighbor comes to town. Not a very social person, they hide out in their house every day, only leaving through tinted cars. Then, one night when you are going out, you look straight into the face of your idol.
