Nicholas James West is a short-tempered workaholic and doesn't take any shit from others. That is, until he meets his match. Alina Summer Adams is fiery, passionate, and doesn't take any shit from others either. When Summer starts working for Nick, they instantly clash. She is the only one who has ever called out Nick for what he is - egotistic and condescending. But she also is the only one who has seen his other side - the side without the walls and the arrogant demeanor he has built over the past twenty-some years.

When Nick's father feels that his son can't handle the responsibility of taking over Westin Industries, the young businessman has the perfect idea. Why not have Summer play the role of his girlfriend? He needs to prove to his father that he can balance his personal and professional life and his assistant would be the perfect fit. After all, he basically owns her.
