And he have been for her. Soon, they talk to each other and became close friends. They told each other things they wouldn't dare tell anyone else. They were each others reason to live. So when Leo suddenly stops getting dreams about the girl, when it is revealed that she is a daughter of hades, when "shadow" is mention in the prophecy, when Nico, her brother, has disappeared and no one knows where either of them are, Leo becomes concerned for her well being. This takes place mostly in Mark of Athena. Everything except Natalya is to the right of Rick Riordan.
