Many of you have probably experienced a lockdown drill. 

Few of you may have been in the real thing. 

Whether it be because a parent forgot to wear their visitor pass or there's some idiot running rampage with a gun. 

 One day for Devin Andrews, instead of the fun drills where you got out of 10 minutes of class to hide under the desk and scroll through Instagram, waiting for the Principal to come over the loudspeaker telling teachers to get back to work... The real thing happens.

 No one is allowed in. No one is allowed out. No one is safe. We are all at his mercy.

The ups and down come in a split second. You can't decide whether you want fast or slow. Dangerous or steady. But you don't get a choice. You go with the flow. No matter what. I'm Phoenix Wood, the misfit, and outcast of my town. Instead of a roller coaster my life's more like a train wreck. My adventure loving parents were lost at sea and I was left to my aunt Clare Small. Like I said, train wreck... Not roller coaster, TRAIN WRECK. Not to mention the fact that I end up stuck with the bad boy. Could it get any worse? Secrets unravel and life gets a bit more complicated that it used to be. But it must go on. I slowly began to find comfort and safety in him, and I did the same to him. We were two broken people becoming whole. Someone once said when you pass, if you can count your true friends on one hand you are beyond lucky, and I even though I did not like the person that lay before me, I know that he once had true friends, including me.
