Zal Ko is a 3rd year student at Ryosuke Academy, a well-known school for those gifted in the use of the mystical life force known as Qi. Despite being a model student, Zal confronts numerous conflicts due to his heritage as heir of the Dragon Emperor. His desire to escape his family name has led him to study abroad at this famous institution. But, his goal to lead a normal high school career is abruptly halted upon entering his last and final year at the Academy. A new student during Ryosuke Academy's opening ceremony challenges Zal in a test of strength. And to Zal's dismay, the student is not only a gifted Qi user, but they embody the spirit of a dragon.
