"You can't go back there Chase, you can't. You know what he'll do to you if you do." I plead with him, desperate to try and get through that thick skull of his. I grasp each side of his face as I beg, "Just stay here with me and we can work this out, together!" My eyes stinging from the buildup of tears that threaten to escape.
I desperately search those breathtaking eyes of his for acceptance, acceptance of my offer, but all I can see is determination and guilt in them as he slowly shakes his head and pulls away from me.
A treacherous tear escaping his eye as he takes my hands away from his face. I knew then that I could beg all I wanted but there would be no changing his mind.
I collapsed onto my knees on the gravelled driveway, burring my face in my hands, trying to suffocate the continuous sobs that had broken their way through. Chase crouches down in front of me pulling my hands away from my face to make me look at him before he lays a gentle kiss on my forehead places ours together. "I won't let him take you too." He whispers with a shaky voice. "He wont have you too, I wont let him." He kisses my temple one last time, lingering there for a moment, before rising and making his way to the forests' edge.
He stops right at the forest edge turning to me for one last glance and giving me one of his heart stopping smiles before he crouches down and sprints away in his new skin.
