Jungian's philosophy depicts that everyone has a shadow; an inner demon, a dark and repressed side of ourselves that we hide from the rest of the world. These theories play a key role in Robertson Davies' novel, "Fifth Business". Throughout the book, the protagonist struggles with his shadow which takes the form of the guilt he has been harboring since a traumatic incident in his childhood. This monologue explores the perspective of a lesser character, David + his shadow. Enjoy! ;)
