Sequel to Master's Apprentice.

It's all fun and games when you're a superhuman, technically.
However, for Maria, it's been nothing short of tragedy.
Which gets worse when she's kidnapped from her school and ends up in an asylum.
Then she meets him, a strange boy with answers to some of her questions and powered as well.
That's when the real fun begins and the chase is on to avert a super assassin from her tail.

For James, life's been a piece of cake, literally.
Unfortunately, he doesn't want it to be that way.
At a very haunted warehouse, he encounters this girl who can do extraordinary things.
He follows her back to her family and even befriends her.
The fun doesn't last as his life is thrown back in his face and he ends up running for his life.
Did he really think he could escape destiny?
