It's senior year and Maisha should be applying to a roster of colleges. That's at least what her parents and teachers expect but riddled with internal demons Maisha the star student begins to spiral. Under pressure from everyone around her, she begins to seek solace in self-medication. Until she is saved by an unlikely companion.

All Janarious really wants to do is rap and stay out of the streets. The latter becomes increasingly harder as the ones he loves most become more and more involved in the game. Will Janarious become just another statistic or will he beat the odds?
