I began to squeeze her even tighter. "Do you notice that you don't call Hawai'i home anymore? When you were over there and you'd talk about home, you'd always be referring to back here." She placed her palms on either side of my body and lifted herself up. Looking directly into my eyes, she confidently said, "No. I was always referring to you. You and Cayleigh are my home." ***** Cayden Jourdan is the guy every guy wants to be and every girl wants to be with. Everyone believes he not only has what it takes to lead his team to the Championships for the first time in school history but also to make it to the NFL. His skills on the field are extraordinary, but it has nothing on his skills in the bedroom. Just ask any girl on campus. Most of them are willing to do anything to get into bed with him. Some of them want even more. But unfortunately for them, he's not the relationship type. Never has been. And even if he were, his heart's not his to give away. It's completely owned by his four year old daughter, Cayleigh. But what happens when his little princess asks him to get her a real mommy for Christmas? What's the playboy to do? Brooke Kahele just made the biggest decision of her life...transferring to an out of state college. Can she survive being on her own for the first time when her whole support system is all the way on the other side of the Pacific Ocean? Well, ready or not, she's about to find out. "I may not remember much, but I do know that I had the best time with you last night." Charlie drops his hand from his mouth and lifts his head to stare into my eyes, pushing his hair back from his face at the same time. "And I know this is awkward now, because I'm pretty sure we were both naked together in bed last night..." I choke on air, trying to dispel the imaginary object from my throat. Charlie reaches out and lightly grasps my hand; my eyes slide from our interlocked fingers to his shining pupils. "...but I still wouldn't change a single thing about it. So, I really do look forward to hearing from you later, Kaiydeen." It's like I've been taken hostage by his electric stare. I don't want to look away. I never want to look away. The busy noises of the street and the honking of the traffic fade as I lose focus, nothing strong enough to force my attention away from this boy. Finally, Archer loudly clears his throat as he flings his door open and plops into the car with a huff, breaking the trance between the two of us. I look away as I withdraw my hand from his grasp, trying to figure out what the hell just happened. This is going to be a long 6 months. ●●● Kaiydeen has always known what she wanted, more like who, but she never knew exactly how to get it. So she's complacent with biding her time until it, actually he, comes to her; no matter how long that takes. But then one day she crashes into someone she doesn't expect. Someone that has always had an eye for her, and he isn't satisfied with biding his time until she's his. But when the one person she's always wanted admits he wants her, too, she's forced to make a choice. Should she go for the boy she just met or the boy she's always known? There is some use of mature language in this story, so if your eyes are innocent and you want them to stay that way this might not be the story for you. Credit to @slueths for the incredible cover!!
