Keeping You a Secret meets The Fault in Our Stars

Hiram is just a majorly depressed unordinary teen trying to live their unordinary life with their homophobic parents. Which is hard, mind you, when you're a non binary pansexual trying to date. After getting kicked out of the house, Hiram must learn to find their own two feet amidst crippling depression and financial issues. They're not ready to be an adult yet; they can barely manage their own anxiety, and did I mention that they're trying to date?

Audrey is everything Hiram could have wanted. She's smart, beautiful, and has nice ass pink hair. They hit it off immediately, and Hiram's waiting for their Happy Ever After, when a migraine heads south. Audrey has cancer and has been given six months to live.

Suddenly everything's changed. Hiram can feel Audrey slipping away from their grasp. But they refuse to let this disaster ruin their relationship. Hiram proposes. Even though their anxiety is telling them not too. Even though Audrey would have to get parental consent. Even though their Happy Ever After wouldn't be forever.

But with Hiram's mental illness making more and more of an appearance, and with Audrey's condition escalating, will their marriage work out or even occur?

A heartbreaking YA romance story about trust, mental illness, and commitment, Running With Tigers is sure to make you rethink your life. (Please make sure you have tissues)
