Esmé Jane Cobalt was best friends with Zayn Malik. You know, the Zayn Malik, member of the best boy-band since the Beatles. This was all before the X-Factor, before One Direction became so famous, before Zayn forgot about her.

Esmé, now called Ez, has changed. I mean, if the only person that actually cared about you suddenly started 'ignoring' you, there must be something wrong with you, right? Ez thought that if Zayn changed, she should change. If he moved on, she would too. Instead of the sweet, caring girl before, she's a badass.

And what's the very first words Esmé says to Zayn when they haven't seen each other in 4 years?
