Ruby and yang are  identified as male wolf faunuses who surprisingly has shape shifting abilities. They went to beacon to become huntsmen as new students. As the time goes by Ruby developed weird feelings for Weiss, and a student namely Blake fell for Yang.

However a villain named Salem desires Ruby as her ally by removing his memories and letting him unleash his darkest power.

Unexpectedly, vampires exists and attempted to turn ruby and yang to their own kind but ended up being a hybrid hence still needing blood to live, taking blood from their friends.
