"Heels aren't practical," she stated. She shrugged when she noticed his puzzled look. "They ruin the ball of the foot when worn for too long, they impair a woman's running ability, and, they hurt like hell," she continued. "But...?" He prompted. "-Is that gonna stop me from wearing them? Hell no!" She continued as if he hadn't spoken. "Just because a woman gets acne doesn't mean she's going to stop wearing makeup, just because a woman has she more curve then the skinny girls, doesn't mean she isn't gonna wear what she wants, just because a woman isn't ladylike, doesn't mean that her fellow women are gonna disown her," she rambled. He sighed. "And just because my father is a president, doesn't mean I'm a saint."

𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶-𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁. 𝗛𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀. 𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝘄𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘁. Darien Xavier doesn't believe in romance. Especially not the type of romance that novelist Elisa Gilmore writes about. Stalkers? Bodyguards? Office rivals? Puh-leeze! Determined to prove to her that cheesy tropes aren't the way to a woman's heart, he acts out everything she's written... but will he lose his own heart in the process? 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁: Enemies to Lovers ✓ Only One Bed ✓ Fake Dating ✓ Forced Proximity ✓ Guy Falls First ✓ Stalking ✓ Boss's Brother ✓ Masked Man ✓ Kidnapping ✓ Trapped in an Elevator ✓ Stranded ✓ + More 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁: "This is your chance. Run." Elisa crossed her arms. "No. I'm not scared of him." Darien glared at her impatiently. "Fine. If you won't run from him, then run from me." "Excuse me?" "Here's another one of your tropes: I catch you, I kiss you." "That's not the trope! It's supposed to be 'I catch you, I...'" Elisa cleared her throat and paraphrased, "'...ravish you.'" The corner of his lip quirked. "'Ravish'?" "Shut up, I'm just correcting you." He stepped closer, his eyes burning into her. "Do you want an upgrade? Because I'm down for that if you are." "I don't even want the kiss!" His eyes widened. "Then...run."
