I was ten. A horrifying scream made me leap from my bed and went outside to the low boundary wall where the source coming from. Curiosity will kills me. Indeed, it killed me. I saw a young woman engulfed in flames, her head that was glossy brown hair crowned with thorns of red roses was pulled into a messy bun. Wrist and feet were bound with the thick nylon and rope. Her arms, reach up to the night sky like she was begging to the sky. She had only screamed that once. The moment I looked at the girl, I knew I was sure it was Malay the girl who I was used to envy.

I was drowning. I knew that. I also knew that the hands around my throat, pushing me deeper into the river water was the cause. What I didn't know was who was drowning me and why. It hurt thinking.
