It has been 42 years since an earthquake destroyed the city formerly known as Tokyo. It has also been 42 years since the beginning of the end of the world as we had known. It wasn't one big incident that took the world down, it was just a chain reaction triggered by international conflicts, global warming, the awakening of AIs, civil wars, the weakening of governments, and the domination of international conglomerates that did the job.
