You should be scared of the dark. The things we fear, the things that lurk in the shadows, the beings we fear most.  They are all real, so very real and so much more terrifying and dangerous than the human mind to comprehend. 
"What are you scared of?" The dark figure asked  Amelia whilst walking around her menacingly. She stood there, waiting for it to attack her, rip her to shreds. That's what they all do, kill. Kill everyone in sight. But she knows how to fight.  "Nothing. Nothing anymore..." She glared up at the figure, glowing with anger.

I'm being very clear. I don't see what she's confused about. "How do you know my name?" He hears her answering his own question. Why is she asking me this? I'm her best friend, of course I know her name. Nicholas didn't understand the previous question. "Because we've met before." The look that comes over Katherine's face is bewilderment. She doesn't get anything I'm saying. Its almost like I'm talking to a stranger. The thought shook Nicholas to his core because he's telling the truth. Katherine didn't believe him. He knew he's right after what she says next. "We've never met before aside from you stalking me," she tells him. Nicholas felt his entire world shatter around them. Katherine sounds like she doesn't know me. She sounds like someone who never met her bestfriend. She sounds like, a stranger... [1st draft ]

It was morning. I stood with closed eyes in the bathroom. I stood at the sink with a mirror in front of me. I felt thin and long fingers on my waist. I knew it was a dream. I felt talons. They didn't hurt me but I had a feeling if I opened my eyes they would. I felt breathing down my spine. Chills and fear shook my whole body. I couldn't look but I wanted so badly to see and know what or who was behind me. A tear of fear slowly slid down my cheek. I gasped in a low voice when I felt a tongue lick it away. More tears started falling when I felt a clawed finger brush the salvia away. I whimpered when I heard it speak: "It's okay. I'm only here to protect you and help you." Lissie is being stalked and she does not know what to do or who to tell. She does not know what is following her. She's got to be dreaming but when the thing following her keeps stalking she realizes that this might not be a dream. But what is it? Where does it come from? Why follow her?

"I did try to ask nicely and multiple times, I might add. The time for being nice has come to an end since it doesn't seem to work with you." He passed by the table and stepped down. There weren't many places for her to hide in here but the creature did tell him Amelia came into this room. "Please come out and talk to me." He waited a beat for a response but he didn't get one. "Fine, let me tell you a story. I used to be able to see the creatures clearly but an accident happened when I was younger that damaged one of my eyes. Now they're just blurry to me. But you . . . you can see them clearly and see rare objects. I want you to join me. Be my eyes." He waited again for a few moments for a response he still didn't receive. A thought occurred to him. What if she was hoping that he'd just leave the room? He chuckled quietly to himself in amusement. "I'm not going anywhere. But you know what? It's fine if you decline my offer again. Just know that if you don't come with me, you could come home to find that your parents are dead because of a work accident or some other natural cause. You wouldn't want that would you?" He paused just one more time and began speaking again. "If you come with me today, your parents won't have to die. I can keep them safe. If you don't give me an answer, I'll have my creature kill your parents now and I'll still take you. Do you want dead parents or living parents? It's your choice." Amelia came out of the bay window seat compartment. She was trying to hide her fear and anger. She didn't care what happened to her but she didn't want her parents to die because of her. She took a deep breath. "Fine . . . I'll come with you." He smiled smugly, "Smart choice. There's no need to be afraid of me. Your parents are safe now and I won't hurt you." "It's because you need me for my abilities." She said more of a fact than a question. She knew he wouldn't kill her because he needed her. "Correct. Now, let's tell your parents the good news."
