Briar Rose Snow, President Snow's beloved granddaughter, or in other words, the capitol's princess. A mighty title to live up to, and one that Briar wants nothing to do with. Growing up in the Capitol and directly under the watchful eyes of everyone in Panem, Briar learned to hate her home in silence. She planned in secret to run away from the Capitol with her best friend, and when Briar set her mind to something, she always got it.
She was the Capitol's Princess, after all.
When Briar finds herself running to District 12 where she knows Katniss Everdeen will be, she unexpectedly meets Gale Hawthorne, best friend of Katniss and hater of all things Capitol related, most of all Briar. But there are bigger things coming.
When Snow announces out of spite that Briar and her best friend will be participating in the Quarter Quell as the Capitol's first ever, very own tributes, Briar's world comes crashing down.
How will a pampered princess survive in an arena full of experienced, skilled, competitive victors?

Cole Mellark, the Boy On Fire, has survived, even though his home has been destroyed. There are rebels. There are leaders. A revolution is unfolding. After supposedly being rescue from the horrid Quarter Quell, Cole is taken to Section N, also known as District 13, which still stands strong after the once revolution. Now, another one has began, and Cole is supposed to be the face of it all, like his grandmother. Cole is to become the Blue Jay, and unite the sections to fight against the Capitol once again. However, Cole has his mind set on other things. A revolution could mean the end of Panem, as barely enough of the population had survived the last one nearly sixty years ago. And with the other victors, including Rye, captured in the Capitol, he needs to do whatever he can to rescue them and bring them to him safely, which means being responsible for countless lives, and being the rebels' greatest weapon.
