There are only a few places where they could express themselves, yet they usually don't, as the lingering fear of the consequences and potential isolation terrifies them. There's a saying in many languages that goes somewhat along these lines- strength is in unity. However, none of these students know of each other. They think they're alone, lost in the darkness of the void. That is, until something happens. A butterfly effect, you could call it that. High school is already difficult enough. These two didn't think they would get involved in each other's lives more than they had to.
