Riley Wood, 17, is fairly popular in school, was abandoned by her mother when she was just a little girl, and is living with a father who is too busy to give her any time of the day. Overall, she is pretty content with her life.
She doesn't think much of it one day when her father tells her they were getting a new, slightly permanent, house guest. A girl. A very strange girl was coming to live with them, and join her school. Mr. Wood tells his daughter that he has to house the new girl due to a debt he owes someone, and was very clear when he tells her to be very careful.
The girl's name is Sarah. No background. No last name. Just Sarah.
Riley, confused and curious, wonders what Sarah, at 17 years of age, could've done to earn her father's generosity and contempt. Just the same, she tries to stay away from her, faintly feeling sorry at the same time.
But when Riley discovers Sarah's first acquaintance at her school happens to be none other than Jake Fisher, the notorious trouble-maker, she instantly tries to save her new house-guest from imminent danger. However, she gets caught up in a tide of hatred, scorn and redemption when she discovers the truth about her connection with Jake Fisher.
As Sarah tries her best to turn her own life around for the better, she chances on a strangely aloof boy named Aaron Stone. Aaron has difficulty making friends, owing to his extremely anti-social attitude towards everyone he meets. Everyone except for Sarah, it seems. Because no matter how hard he tries, he just can't get her out of his hair. Or head.
Follow the four teenagers on their roller coaster journey as they topple over dominoes of unprecedented revelations, trying to find comfort amongst one another amid the puzzle that is their lives, and watch them reel through strange adventures induced by not so casual encounters.

Parker Larson has a problem and that problem is Lillian Drake. She just won't leave him alone. It's getting annoying. She has confessed to him plenty of times and he's rejected her all the same. He simply doesn't like her like that. What does he like, though? His music. He lives and breathes music, it's his life. Lillian? Not so much. He's not a bad person, but he doesn't like the idea of people acting so clingy, so he becomes this cold, closed off person and basically says 'fuck off.' When she tries to talk to Parker after the second time in one day, she is dragged to the nurse by Parker and his best friend, Sean only to find out that her life, is coming to an end-- And fast. So, what do Parker and Sean do? Well, they give the little loner something that she might need, something she hasn't had. Friends. She will have to deal with Parker, Sean and their friends, Aiden, Vince, Carlos and David. The day they all met is the same day their lives changed forever. And it all started with Lillian Drake's bucket list.
