My attempt at writing a proper story. Love it or hate it, let me know good people of the Webosphere! :D This is the story of Quentin Tolbert, a young writer living in Paris. The year is 1934, and this story follows Quentin's effort to complete the book he believes will be his finest work, though nothing seems to go as planned, and when a murder sets in motion a series of events that catch him entirely by surprise, Quentin is torn from the comfort of his apartment and into the maw of 1930's Europe.

That Rascal Gustave, by Paul De Kock
Paul De Kock was in his day a very prolific, famous, and successful writer of slightly salacious novels set in his native France. That Rascal Gustave, published in French as Gustave ou le Mauvais sujet in 1822, is a typical example of his manner, which 19th century audiences found titillating, though of course, it is very tame by ours. Gustave is a harum-scarum, forever running after women, sometimes catching one, and getting into ludicrous scrapes. His father, who loves him but is exasperated by his antics, is trying to make him settle down with a more eligible partner, and Gustave expends a lot of time and energy in trying to avoid this. It ends, of course, with wedding bells and both father and son happy with the outcome.Concluida
