The night was cool, fresh and immensely dark. It was intimidating, like each star in the night sky was looming, watching your every move.  

Just as I was about to open my door, save myself from the dread. Just as I was about to curl up and hide fearfully under my covers, they came. The alarms of their presence sounded like vicious snakes hissing and snapping.

That night, something sparked in me. A new light of hope. What it was, I am trying to figure out.
