Earth has been all but destroyed, its population nearly wiped out. Those wealthy or fortunate enough fled the planet altogether once it was clear there would be no fixing the damage that had been done. So they made themselves a peaceful living on the newly discovered Genesis, abandoning their old technologies for a more simplistic lifestyle, in hopes of preserving their new planet. But that fragile balance is destroyed when a fleet of Earthdwellers who had remained sought refuge on Genesis, too. They were mistrusted and unwelcome, bringing only strife and illness in their coming. When unfamiliar pathogens are introduced to the life there, a plague breaks out among the people. It is then that Jay and Rea, two young ones with an inkling for adventure, leave their village and all they are familiar with in search of a cure. But when an elder of their village imprints them with strange markings before their departure, their troubles go beyond finding a bit of medicine. What are these odd symbols in their skin? And what exactly are they capable of? Whether they be a blessing or a curse is yet to be determined, but one thing is for certain: they are not to be underestimated.

Long ago, our planet was visited by beings from another world, and they built cities here and created human beings here based on their own DNA but modified to suit the Earth's environment. We humans referred to them as their gods, who taught them the knowledge of their world, on which our world was modeled after. But alas, they were flawed beings, just like us humans. They had complicated romantic relationships with each other and with humans, and also led human populations to fight war with each other using weapons of mass destruction over their petty disagreements. Human beings are still part of that legacy. A group of enlightened people who have reincarnated many times from those days to learn that this is not the way forward. Pooling their resources together, they have decided to try and put an end to this vicious cycle once and for all. But how much do they know? How much control do they have over their destiny? Will they succeed? Or will they fall prey to the machinations of their enemy, whose identity they don't even know.
