Alice Clarke lives in a dingy flat in London with her Dad until something changes.Her Dad is killed. She is sent to a home for minors who have gone through trauma. She is silent, blaming herself until she meets Fergus, a Scottish boy filled with energy. He teaches Alice how to be young while she can.
But how can Alice stay in such a small town with only Fergus keeping her afloat? She can't possibly let their friendship become more- not when her Dad's just died. Trapped inside her own thoughts, Alice has to face the inevitable truth that she won't be young and with Fergus for long.
Not when she leaves.
