in the garden, the stars are perfectly aligned into
pure beauty and when i turn skyward, it
reminds me of the soft, pale waves of your lips.
rose pedals and wine staining your skin
and the slight stench of cigarette smoke
shrouding the bubbled water of your running bath.
the way you say my name
is a crime of retrospective sadness and
the way you hold me in your arms is a
trial of collapsing & shooting stars.
