[guardianangel!au] having him by my side was simultaneously the best and worst thing to ever happen to me. It was like seeing my reflection move on its own in the mirror; something so inexplicable that I couldn't help but freeze in my tracks. It was weird at first, having someone that I knew was always a few steps behind me or around the next corner, but eventually, I found myself taking comfort in it.
I grew used to him and the glowing halo he adorned, and he became the reason there was always a hint of a smile on my face. Even if I didn't know the story behind his untraditional appearance to me.
Eventually, when we both realised what was going on, something began to change. We were distant at first, not knowing how to handle it, but after everything, he became something close to a friend. He gave me a shoulder to cry on and he kept my head above water, but most of all, he gave me someone that I knew I could always trust.
But working our way around the guidelines as friends was hard enough. And when things began to change in a different way, I knew that eventually, we would find ourselves in much hotter water.
