They told us to stand in the water, and so we stood. Waiting. For anything. A raft, a boat... death. We had been aiming to stay disciplined and patient, but there seemed to be a much greater chance of a German bomb falling right on our heads than somehow finding a way to transport 400,000 helpless, desperate soldiers across the English Channel.

it's been 2 years since the battle of dunkirk. tommy is still traumatized by the terrors of being a soldier in that horrible time. he fears he will never get over the trauma he experienced. will somebody come along the way to dull his pain or will they leave him helpless? ~~~~ warning: this story may move a bit too fast for your liking, but i'm planning on making the story short, about 30 chapters. enjoy the book. i also wrote this book at 14, so i apologize in advance if anything in the book seems grammatically/logically incorrect. - got in #1 ranking for the fionnwhitehead tag.Complete
