⚘I think of us more as flowers in the attic. Paper flowers. Born so brightly colored and fading duller through all those long grim, dreary, nightmarish days when we were held prisoner of hope and held captive by greed🥀

Kailani is a child who lives two very different lives in two very different places. When she's with her mother Raegan Bentley in Monterey, Virginia she is very independent and basically takes care of herself. But when she's in Honolulu, Hawaii with her father, Steve McGarrett, Kailani gets to be a kid. When she's with her Dad, which isn't very often since her Dad's a Naval Seal, she feels like it's her safe haven. Kailani cherishes the moments she spends with Steve because she knows when she goes back with her mother that all goes away.

A few days after her ninth birthday, which she spent with Steve, Kailani was sent back to the mainland where her mother awaited. With a smile on her face Raegan lies to Steve about her drug addiction and drinking problem saying she hadn't touched either in months.

And then that night tragedy struck.

A few men walked into the house while Raegan was there, passed out, and took Kailani. In the morning when Raegan finally woke up it took her hours before she noticed that her daughter was missing. In her mind she couldn't call the police because it was her fault and Steve would find out. While she fights to decide what to do Kailani is held hostage by a stranger surrounded by children just like her. At nine-years-old she cannot be a child that plays outside, but is forced to hide away and protect herself like a mother should've done.

Audrey Denali was a beautiful Native American girl. She was wise beyond her years. She was actually quite smart; graduating high school by the age of fifteen. One thing about Audrey that everyone should know, was that she had secrets. The secrets were kept between her and her mother, Odina. When Audrey was eighteen years old, she was attacked by a man while out with her friends. The man was later captured, after he had apparently attacked three other girls. Unlike the other girls, Audrey fell pregnant. The pregnancy wasn't easy, nor was it easy to hide from anyone else on the reservation, but she and her mother were able to keep the secret. When the pregnancy was no longer able to be hidden, Odina decided it was time for Audrey to branch out on her own. Instead of staying on the reservation, Audrey decided to find herself a home in the city. She figured if she got away from the reservation, she could find herself a boyfriend and be able to hide what happened to her. Everyone on the reservation would've accepted her son, but she felt ashamed of herself, so she couldn't make herself stay. Mateo Ezra Denali was born right after Audrey's nineteenth birthday. Audrey loved Mateo more than anything, even though she had to leave her home to raise him. He was her whole world, even at times when her world seemed to be crashing around her. A year later, when Audrey and Mateo were on their way home from the park, they were grabbed by a man who had been kidnapping women and their babies. The BAU had to work together fast to save Mateo and Audrey before the unsub had a chance to kill them. During the time they were trying to find the unsub and the people he captured, Garcia uncovers secrets the team never seen coming...

"You're atheist," I remind him. "You don't believe in god." "I believe in you," He murmurs, letting the cigarette hang from his lips. "I believe in whatever you believe." He says, letting the confession roll off his tongue as if it were that simple. As if god, the devil, heaven, hell-as if none of it really had meaning to him. "That's not how it works," I mutter as we walk down a few more alleyways-the city of Manhattan coated in a light blanket of snow. Henry Vitiello had never had anything to pray for, that is, until he met me-the only thing that had ever opened his mind up to the possibility of religion "Isn't it?" She hated them. They loved her with everything in them. The universe truly has a sick way of telling you it's there, doesn't it? From being kidnapped to being abused, that was all Arabella saw in life. It was all she ever knew. They tell you to keep fighting but sometimes you realize... you were just a child. Now she's built herself up using her pain as the next step to her strength. She's learnt how to strive forward even as her past haunts her mind crawling up her back every passing second. That is until the first 7 people who only ever brought her pain find their way back into her life. She has no way to let go of her past when they come right back to her. The world showed her no mercy in it's ways so why should she. ~~~ I let out a small sigh wanting more of this. I wanted to be held like this whenever I felt broken. Feel the way he puts me back together in his arms. It ate at my heart and I could have sworn I felt a feathery kiss on my head. It was as if he could hear my thoughts and was kissing them away for me. Slowly he lets one hand go, the other staying around me as he brings my chin up to him gently wiping my last tears as more fill my eyes. He sees this and his eyes look... crumbled. If you feel this way then why can't you choose me, Dominic. I shake my head from his hands wishing to step back but he pulls me back to him a pain filled groan leaving him. "Just one more minute. Please." His body shook and I brought him closer, feeling our pain become one. Our hurricanes of minds pull away even for the smallest time letting us stand together as one in each other's embrace. He was it for me. But I wasn't his.
