When the girls secret leaks, she is picked at on from the popular clique at Rose's school, so when Rose overhears she can't be expected to ignore it, so she charges in. Add the fact that lately Rose's boyfriends have been cheating on her so you could say life is a 'bitch'.
Not to mention, she just lost someone close to her,so when everything get's overwhelming Rose leaves, taking time to find herself again and piece her past together.
