In 1839, Great Britain invaded China in what was known as the First Opium War. The Ten Tigers Of Canton - Fu Jow Pai martial artists, fought their first encounter with gun powder. 

British soldiers swept through China's defenses with slight resistance until the country was fully occupied. Martial artists fled to the Beijing River and built small settlements. The original Fu Jow Pai masters were on the verge of extinction by the river. They hoped to carry on their legacy through those that would come after them. 

A descendant of the last original martial artist was born in 1876. Will he be vital to China's re-emergence? To stand in the face of oppression? Is a story that is yet to be revealed.All Rights Reserved

Yang Guo's and Xiaolongnu's romance is forbidden by the prevailing norms in the martial arts world. Their love story faces a lot of ordeals. Xiaolongnu is raped. Later, she almost married a bad guy. And then both she and Yang Guo are poisoned and aren't sure if the other survived or not. It comes to the point where they have to separate for 16 years before reuniting for good. During that time, Yang Guo undergoes many adventures and learn from many great teachers. He manages to improve his martial art skill and turns into a courageous hero. In the end, before going into a seclusion, he and Xiaolongnu help Guo Jing and Huang Rong fight the Mongolians from invading the Song Empire.
