Melanie is excited to turn 16. She can get a car, a job, and move onto the next stage of her life. That is, until she realizes that 'next stage' has more in store for her than she realized.
Overwhelmed, how will Melanie cope when she is developing these strange abilities, being greeted by two supposed "protectors", and thrust into a war with little preparation, all the while keeping her family in the dark.
