Love is stupid.
That's the ultimate conclusion Benny Harlock has come to after receiving intel from her poor love-sick best friend. Strangely enough, her BFFL isn't really regretting catching the 'love bug' and she really doesn't get what's so good about it. Perhaps it's one of those things where you have to actually catch it to really know what it's about. Perhaps if Benny caught it, some light may be shed on why people do so many stupid things for their beloved one.
So what happens when the perfect opportunity pops up for her to learn?
You know that cool, popular and good-looking guy that's always at the centre of things? Uh huh, enter test subject 'hotshot'.
But Darcy Rowan has a character that ruins even the most materialistic desires. He's rude, hot-tempered and ALWAYS says what's on his mind without considering consequences. For Benny, he's perfect. He's the one that is going to teach her romance. Of course he doesn't agree right away. So she proposes to him: if he can get her to fall in love with him and spend a year together with her lovesick state, she gives him full permission to break her heart in the most despicable way possible!
“Sometimes you break your heart in the right way, if you know what I mean.” ― Gregory David Roberts
