I rush to my locker to drop my bookbag off and to pick up my History textbook .
Damn! I'm late for class, something that I was hoping not to be. Ms. Pinello is going to eat my ass for being late and I hate her enough already. I opened my locker, met with a bunch of loose paper, textbooks, notebooks and old lunches.
I need to clean out my locker during lunch. I picked up my notebook, a mechanical pencil, and the textbook out of my locker. I slam my locker closed causing a piece of paper to fall on the floor. I pick it up stuffing it in my notebook, making a mental note to check it later as I hustled off to class.
I walked into the class five minutes late and everyone was staring at me like I was a new student. Ms. Pinello stopped her teaching to look at the door.
"You're late Ms. Calleci. This is your second offense, another one for this semester and you'll be granted a week of detention!" says Ms. Pinello
"I'm sorry, for some reason my alarm clock never rings." I say
"I didn't ask for excuses. Now take your seat." Ms. Pinello says to then resume her lesson on Native American tribes on the East Coast. As she teaches, I blank out thinking about possible dinner options and why my alarm clock never wants to ring. All of a sudden my mind clicked and I remembered a piece of a paper recently stuffed into my notebook. I took the piece of paper out of my notebook to read to see what class it belongs to. I read:
"You're one of the most beautiful girls in the school, if not the most beautiful. Hopefully one day we can be together."
- Unknown "
Wow. Me? Beautiful? Are there any blind guys in this school? There must be!
As I think of a list of guys that might be a romantic type and do this, Ms. Pinello ruins my train of thought shouting the words "Unit Exam next week". Great, now I have to spend my weekend studying.
