Milo is just an ordinary Delievery boy working for the army. He lives a pretty normal life, except for the occasional nightmares caused by traumatic experiences from his childhood, followed closely by the stress of his job. And it certainly doesn't help his sanity that his Zoid is a pain in the "you know what".  Chocolate, his Shield Liger, seems to disappear just when he needs her most. Not to mention she has her radar set for trouble.
At times, it seems like she has a mind of her own. But, that's impossible right? She's just a simple Helic Republic issue Shield Liger, nothing fancy outside of a custom paint scheme. Milo's opinions will soon change, when his world is turned upside down and inside out by some rather impossible seeming events.
