You all know the story. America Singer captured the heart of Prince Maxon. The rebels attacked. The King and Queen were killed. Maxon became King, and then went on to eradicate the caste system. They had four kids, two of which were twins. The eldest, Eadlyn, went on to become Queen, with Eikko as her Prince Consort.
None of that matters now.
It is decades after the rule of Eadlyn, and things have taken another turn for the worst. The war in New Asia led to World War V, and in order to get ahold of his country, the wicked King Wayland Schreave has reinstituted the caste system. The country is in a massive state of poverty, save for castes two and three, who were the people who had something to give to the king.
But one day, everything came tumbling down.
The King, Queen, and their two children were all in a car accident orchestrated by the rebels, or Ribelli, as they call themselves. The king, queen, and three-year old princess were all pronounced dead on scene. The only surviving member was Prince, now King, Hadyn Schreave.
The laws of Illea state that a King must have a bride within three months of his rule, otherwise the crown will be taken, and the next kin in line will be given the throne.
Desperately, the now King announces a very old tradition, The Selection, in hopes of finding a wife before the crown must be given to Yael Illea, descendent of Gregory Illea himself.
The only question now, is who will win the King's broken heart?
