|| 3rd Place, Teen Fiction winner of the Lavender Awards||

Right out of high school and starting her first year in university, Claire Paisley thought she knew what she wanted.

Following in her father's footsteps seemed like the right thing to do to make her parents proud. There's only one problem, she doesn't actually want to be an accountant for the rest of her life. In fact, her brother telling her to drop out seemed like the best thing to have ever happened to her.

Maybe for the first time, she'll finally take a leap of faith and question everything she thought she knew about herself.

And ending up across the ocean, with her stupid advice column, might just grant her the wish she's always dreamed of, to know what it's like to be in love... and also learn what that means.

"Here's the thing though . . ." He trails off thoughtfully and then he looks straight at me. His eyes are steely and that makes me realise the fundamental difference between the young Ryan and this Ryan. He's hardened now. The sweet boy I once knew is probably still in there somewhere but life eventually got to him and he had to toughen up. "I need someone I can rely on. I don't want to take a person on who just decides it's too much hassle a few days or weeks in and just . . . Ghosts me." He finishes. There's a definite challenge there. He's not just talking about the job. He's getting a dig in there about the way I disappeared out of his life. As well as implying I'm generally unreliable . . . ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Iona Stewart is pretty sure she's having a premature midlife crisis. Recently made redundant, permanently unlucky in love, and back living with her parents, she's desperate for a change of scenery. So when an opportunity comes up to work in a hotel in the Highlands, it seems like fate has stepped in. The problem? Her new boss is Ryan Thorne. Her former friend. Her first crush. And the boy who broke her heart nearly 17 years ago. She had no intention of ever seeing him again after that night. And it seems he isn't that keen on having *her* around either. Be prepared for nineties flashbacks, many awkward encounters, and *hopefully* a happy ever after . . . ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ❤️Second Place in the Chick-Lit category in The Pink Cloud Awards❤️ ❤️Second Place in the Chick-Lit category in The Hibiscus Awards❤️ ❤️Winner of Best Opening in Chick Lit in the Berry Pancake awards❤️ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ *Complete companion novella entitled "No Reservations: Ryan's Version" is now available*

Read OUR CHEMISTRY to discover the cute incidents of an ordinary teenage couple! *** "Do you like sleeping?" He said. I nodded. "Me too! We should do it together sometime." He smirked, challenging me to say a better pickup line. When I didn't say anything he laughed. "Are you a scientist? Cause I would do you on a table, periodically." He whispered in my ear, his deep voice vibrating in my mind. I blushed. I shook my head and looked at him. Rolling my eyes ever so slightly and smiling seductively while flicking his nose, I said, "Gosh, You have such a dirty mind." He blushed for a moment at the sudden touch on his nose, but the smirk eventually came back. "I don't have a dirty mind, sweetheart. I just got a sexy imagination." *** Reviews: "It's really cute for a short story... I'm impressed there are no grammatical mistakes...Nice ;)" By @pattachan, a beautiful person! "Hey! "You broke my first rule," I whispered in her left ear as I pulled down her underwear under the table slowly with my hungry fingers. "Why are you wearing underwear around me?" "Behave, Please..." Her voice quivered by the pleasure between her legs, begging her throat not to let out deep moans in front of her parents. "I'll punish you later." In her parents' eyes, I'm the perfect kid. In their daughter's bedroom, I'm the worst criminal. Dark secrets, critical past.
