"Aria: A long, accompanied song for a solo voice."
This story tells the tale of a young woman who goes by the name of Maisie. Maisie had a beautiful voice and a beautiful heart that reached out to others through her music. As she was making her voyage across the sea with her family, she did not realize that it would be the last time she would ever see them again.
Late in the night, a pirate ship attacked, ransacking it for its treasures. As the ship was under attack, Maisie was thrown off the ship by a sudden blast from a cannon. She was completely helpless as she began to sink to the bottom of the ocean. She fought to reach the surface, her anger fueling her need to survive. It was of no use though; a different force was acting against her. Her lungs filled with water and her body began to burn. Two legs became a tail and suddenly it was as if she was breathing fresh air. She was saved.
She swam back up to the surface and watched as the ship she was on burned. The pirates were getting away as it seemed. She let out a scream of anger and pain but what was strange was her scream was angelic. The pirate ship began to turn and suddenly it was heading straight for her, straight for the rocks where she found herself perched miles away. They crashed and the ship was gone, along with the men aboard.
She knew what she had to do, she had to rid the world of pirates. Yet as the tale of a woman sinking pirate ships began to spread, more kept coming. It wasn't until one stormy night when she came to the surface to claim her next victim, did she realize that her tale would change.

The sea was restless the night Aria Buckingham was born. Dark waves crashed violently against the cliffs of Port Royal, their rage whispering secrets only the wind could hear. The sky, black as sin, carried no moon-only streaks of silver lightning splitting through the heavens like vengeful swords. In a grand estate, nestled just beyond the harbor, a woman labored in pain, her screams swallowed by the storm. "She must not be born near the water!" an elderly midwife pleaded. "The prophecy-" A man loomed in the candlelight, his face shadowed with fear. His name was Lord Edward Buckingham, a powerful British noble whose wealth stretched across the Caribbean. He had spent his life running from the legend that now threatened his child. His wife, Isla, lay trembling in the bed, her face pale as foam on the tide. "She is coming," Isla whispered, her grip tightening around his wrist. "She belongs to the sea." "No," Edward growled, turning his back on her. "She belongs here, with me." Lightning struck the shore outside, sending an eerie blue glow through the window. And then-silence. A baby's cry pierced the night. But it was not the cry of an ordinary child. The windows shattered. The candles flickered. And in the wind, a voice, ancient and sorrowful, carried from the waves: "She will return to us, Edward Buckingham. No man can keep the sea from what is rightfully hers." Edward's blood ran cold. He staggered back, watching as the midwife cradled the newborn girl, her tiny fingers curling around the silver locket Isla had placed around her neck. A locket inscribed with a name-Aria. As the storm raged on, Edward made a decision that would change Aria's fate forever. She would never know who she truly was. She would never see the sea. And she would never-ever-learn the truth of her mother's death. Not if he could help it.

"Do you remember those sweet tender days when the only thing I cared about is you? You were my light in the darkness and always were filled with such joyful emotions. Those childhood days, I envy that I had you so close me and now you are so far away. Everything I did, everything how I acted it was all to protect you and now I only wish I done none of that. I rather turn myself in and be with you than make you cry again. You were everything to me and I do not know how you would forgive me. I would not forgive myself either for what I did... I just wish you would wake up and remember this dreary tale before it is too late" ~~~ Atlantic the princess of the Rivalkai Kingdom or perhaps to some she is known as Kaisa Leisen. Who is she exactly? What is her purpose? And was she the one who really tried to sabotage Miracine and Seivon's relationship? Maybe it was someone else entirely... After all many of the mermaids in royalty hate humans or shall I say humanics. What happened to her when she was younger and who did her kingdom give shelter to all that time? Why does she hate that one mermaid so much and how did he changed from when he was younger? And she can't forget the rumors of that one human who might have caught feelings for her. But what happens when she finally sees where her heart truly lies she has two choices: Loose him with major injuries and maybe forever or go in his place and face the pain head on saving her beloved. But no one heard this tale like the Dream the Pacifican Mermaid had because this is only... The Atlantic Legend. ~~~~ *This is the prequel/spinoff of A Mermaid's Dream which takes place before, during, and after AMD. With all our favorite characters from AMD but more...
