Melody Faust has been a musical prodigy, ever since she first touched a piano when she was three years old. And since then, her, and her parents, have had a single goal for her life: to get into Juilliard music college.

It hasn't been easy. Melody has slowly lost all her friends through the years, from not being able to have a social life - but now, the Juilliard performance is in sight, and Melody only has a few more months of high school to go.

But just when the stakes are at their highest, Kyle Brown enters her life. Attractive, cocky, and popular, Kyle is the sort of person Melody should stay well away from. But, being an aspirational psychologist, he finds himself developing a small obsession with changing Melody, and teaching her just what life she's missing out on.

And he leaves Melody wondering what she cares more about - her present or her future. And whether she even wants the future set out for her anymore.
