"Your high-" I raise an eyebrow at him, he was never formal with him back then when it was just us so I wasn't about to hear him say it. He gets what I'm saying and clears his throat to speak again, "Javier, it's been a long time huh." "I see retirement suits you well old friend." It has been eight years and the man hasn't changed a bit. "Sue has me on this vegan diet, I guess it's working." There are so many questions I want to ask him but I see the urgency in his eyes and decide to bite my tongue and hear what he came here to say. "I know you are busy so I don't want to take up much of your time. I saw your wedding invitation, can't say I wasn't surprised. It got me feeling nostalgic and I started looking at the stuff from back then and I found this," he produces a big white envelope and I give him a questioning look, "it's about Karpathos." I feel blood rushing out of my face. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Crown Prince Javier is about get married and he gets an unexpected visit from an old bodyguard of his who drops quite a catastrophic bomb on him. And suddenly he has to deal with a past he thought he would never revisit again. Will he manage to diffuse it in time or will it explode in his face? Metaphorically speaking of course.

I never wanted this marriage. Being forced to marry him-my greatest enemy-felt like a cruel joke. But our families had been close for generations, and I had no choice. Javier, however, embraced it. He wanted this marriage, not out of love, but out of desire. I despised him for it. But as time passed, everything changed. Our fights turned into stolen glances, and hatred into something far more dangerous. On our wedding day, we could no longer deny it-we had fallen in love. Yet love was only the beginning. What followed was an adventure neither of us expected, full of secrets, betrayals, and a truth that could tear us apart. Because in a world where loyalty is everything, choosing us might mean losing everything else. This is my first story entirely in English. English is not my native language so I apologize in advance if there are any mistakes.
