Clayton Carmine's two brothers had been murdered in cold blood by locusts in the Locust war. He had been close to Anthony and Benjamin, so when he found out that they died, he vowed to stop at nothing until every single locust was dead at his feet. He had earned his name: the Grub Killer. In memory of Anthony and Benjamin, he tattooed them on to his arm and every single Locust he killed was for revenge. As the COG began to lose the war, they started operation Archangel as a secret mission to attack the Locusts where they came from: under the ground. They would need a specialized team of gears who would stop at nothing to achieve their goal. Clayton found out about this secret operation and took it as a personal invitation to exact revenge. Would they make it out alive.

Octaveus was depressed. He knew it, but no one else did. He hid it, just as he hid his scars. He wasn't human either; he hid that too. He hid almost everything about himself from everyone, in order to minimize the ridicule. His mental state, his thoughts, his scars, even his questionable sexuality. But that only fed into his sadness. Drew was insecure. He didn't like standing up for himself in fear of saying something wrong. He didn't even change in the main locker room for PE, he went in the stalls. He was anxious. His hobbies included pushing around the Freshman, flirting relentlessly with any and every attractive popular girl in sight, and trying not to think about Octaveus. He didn't want other people to find out about his thoughts on the emo new kid. So, naturally, he made Octaveus's school day a living hell.
