Fix You

"When are you gonna get it into your head, Kora? You can't fix everything. You can't change everyone. People are imperfect for a reason."
"Yeah?" I asked. "And some are more imperfect than others." I didn't want to look him in the eyes. But I had to. I was strong, unbreakable, reasonable. Not naïve, weak and hurt. But who was I kidding?
As tears welled up in my eyes, I realized something; maybe Liam wasn't the one who needed to be fixed. Or my mother. Maybe the whole time, I was the one who was damaged.
