The Torment
December twentieth is the day I remember being brought into the asylum for the first time. Like any typical psychopath, I screamed. I cried. I remember snatching the nurse's hair until she screamed and I was slapped into unconsciousness and thrown into the room. The only difference? I wasn't a psychopath. Decadent
My hand slaps against my mouth as I try to shut myself up. Don't make too much noise...or he'll hear you. A vehicle's door opens then slams shut. I don't hear footsteps...but as the minutes go by I begin to hear them; the footsteps get louder and louder and louder, matching the sound of my thundering heart. That's when I see his shadow cast over the ditch...over the place where I tried to hide. "Well," he says with a smile in his voice. "I wonder where he could've gone...the footprints stop here...so I wonder if he just...disappeared?" My body begins to tremble. I can feel it now. The pain. I can feel the pain already. He jumps down into the ditch...he stands directly in front of me, with his back facing me. My hand presses harder against my mouth as I try to suppress my whimper, but it's way too late now. But his body tenses up when he hears it. He laughs bitterly as he turns around slowly, and his eyes cut through my camouflage easily. "There you are."Complete
Sugar High
I have always been a planner. Never the girl to leap before look at the drop. The type to have a plan and then a back up plan for that first one. However, when I stormed up the stairs of Daniel's house ready to give him an earful I didn't have a plan. I didn't have a plan for what to do when he wasn't sitting at his corner desk. I didn't plan on going over to that desk and looking through his things. I didn't plan on opening up his science textbook. Didn't plan on seeing the large cut out in the center of all the pages. Didn't plan on switching out the white powdery drugs for the sugar from fake sugar baby that we got for health class. That is my story and I plan on sticking with it. They were trouble. You could just tell by looking at them. They didn't talk to anybody, besides others in the group and people in our school spread stories about them all the time. I thought I had died. When I came to, I found myself in this strange place, disoriented and confused. I looked around and found another five pairs of eyes looking at me with the same emotion swirling in their gaze. Now, 15 years later, I train with these girls.
