Detour

“Choices made, whether bad or good, follow you forever and affect everyone in their path one way or another.” Four best friends find their lives thrown in disarray after a plan to sneak out goes incredibly awry. The ring leader of bad decisions, Cecilia De Rosa, and her partner in crime, Thomas Brennan convince his girlfriend Kateřina Maroušek to go to his Christmas party that has disaster written all over it. Their next ally becomes Kateřina’s older brother, Damek, who agrees to cover for his sister out of the goodness of his unknowing heart. None of them were anticipating what happened after that. Over the course of the night, Kateřina is found dead, Cecilia ends up in a cast that doesn’t begin to show the damage that was done, Thomas goes from the king of parties to isolating himself to ease the pain, and Damek never stops trying to protect Cecilia. The infamous question “Who killed her?” still pangs in the back of everyone’s minds, since there weren’t enough leads to keep the case open. A couple years pass and Cecilia manages to go on with her life as normally as possible, at least until Damek reenters and proposes an offer that she can’t resist.
