"I can't hold this shield up much longer, when we return you must run down the street back to our house, go into my room in the closet and find the blue amulet.  Then, you must create a water vortex back to the palace of water and ice.  Do you understand?" 

When I realized what she was really asking me to do, tears started streaming down my face.  "Mom I'm not going to leave you!" I scream, "We didn't even get any time to be a real family!  I'm nothing without you mom!"  I say looking down at the ground, not wanting to meet her eyes. 

"Sweetheart, you are so much without me, so much more than I am or ever could be, I love you, always remember that." 

"Mom..." I choke on my words, "I... won't leave you here to die." 

"You don't have a choice.  Oh, and Adya? Be brave."  She said softly.

Have you ever just wanted to be normal?  Well, in my case, it's just not possible.  I used to be your typical teenage loner, until one day, my entire life was ripped away by some 'gift'.
