Niall didn't make it through X Factor but Simon saw his potential and made him the guitar player for One Direction. Slowly but steadily Niall gets over his shyness and gets know the boys individually and becomes friends with them. When Louis hears him singing nine months after the band was officially formed he asks why he doesn't talk to Simon about joining One Direction but Niall says he'll never be one of them because he doesn't deserve it, but Louis is determined to make him see otherwise.
